2012 Scion tC

An exhilarating sports coupe, the 2012 Scion tC represents the newest and best-performing entry in the second-generation tC line.

The Scion tC turns heads with its aggressive new styling featuring distinctive fender flares that magnify the car's low, wide stance, a slick front grille and projector headlamps. The supple form of the real taillights flows smoothly in the strong configuration of the trunk.

The Scion tC offers drivers a superior feel in the cockpit, starting with a newly designed steering wheel with three spokes, a flat bottom and a secure grip. The tC's front seats include bolsters that ensure balanced positioning while not sacrificing any comfort. The center console and instrument panel face inward in an aesthetically pleasing V shape that provides simple access to the controls.

The coupe's cabin has been expanded to provide passengers with a more relaxing experience. The tC's reclining rear seats can be split to create more storage room. A panoramic sunroof is standard.

A high-tech Sciono system including eight speakers and CD and USB capability is also standard in the tC. Controls mounted on the steering wheel let drivers safely and conveniently control their music in the vehicle.

The tC is powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that generates 180 horsepower complemented by a six-speed manual transmission. A six-speed automatic is available as an option.

The tC's platform boasts a finely tuned MacPherson strut front suspension along with double wishbone rear suspension. The coupe's 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels are covered by wider tires, leading to a better handling experience for the driver. The tC also includes 16-inch disc brakes and an electronic power steering system that makes drivers feel as if they are one with the road. These elements combine to make the Scion tC a leader in the sports coupe marketplace.

Safety features in the tC include anti-lock brakes, vehicle stability control technology, traction control, brake assist and electronic brake force distribution. Knee airbags for the driver and front-seat passenger are included among the tC's eight standard airbags.

The manufacturer's suggested retail price for the tC's base model ranges from $17,646 to $19,861. Its gas mileage ranges from 23 miles per gallon in the city to 31 miles per gallon on the highway. The vehicle's basic warranty covers 36 months or 36,000 miles.
